The term EUROSTYLE is used today in post-Soviet countries in the public debate about building. This new style of building and interior design stands for the dream of a better world. For the single architect this change also means a new opportunity to make money, to plan challenging projects and to implement possible utopias and to get through difficult periods of change. With her miniaturized architectures Irina Kurtishvili builds the backdrop of a peculiar imaginary gated community for the supposedly "European life", which hardly has anything to do with real life in Western Europe. In this booklet the project is documented in detail with photos and text comments. The provocative spatial interventions are ripe for rediscovery.

Das Projekt EUROSTYLE ist der Versuch einer künstlerischen Annährung an einen unscharfen Begriff, und läßt die an ihm hängenden Träume, Hoffnungen und Enttäuschungen Raum-Bild werden. Der Begriff Eurostyle wird heutzutage in postsowjetischen Länder im gesellschaftlichen Diskurs über das Bauen verwendet. Dieser neue Bau- und Einrichtungsstil steht für den Traum von einer besseren Welt. Irina Kurtishvili baut mit ihren miniaturisierten Architekturen die Kulisse einer eigenartigen imaginären Gated Community für das vermeintlich „Europäische Leben“, das mit dem wirklichen Leben in Westeuropa kaum noch etwas zu tun hat. In diese Broschüre wird das Projekt ausführlich mit Fotos und Textkommentaren dokumentiert. Die provozierenden räumlichen Eingriffe sind reif für eine Wiederentdeckung.
