As a continuation of the exhibitions shown in Frankfurt and Vienna in autumn 2018, we wanted to conceive a special show of Georgian architects and artists of Late Modernism that would set new impulses for the architectural heritage of the Soviet Union. The exhibition is intended as a retrospective. At present, the focus is on drawings from the 1960/70s and 1980/90s and concerns individual architectural icons of late modernism as well as visionary alteration projects. We would like to include examples of individual architects as well as specific groups of architects (or “Ateliers”). The aim of this œuvre is to present an epoch of the past century in a complex picture that will be presented for the first time in Germany in its many facets.

In Fortsetzung zu den in Frankfurt und Wien in Herbst 2018 gezeigten Ausstellungen wollten wir eine besondere Schau georgischer Architekten und Künstler der Spätmoderne konzipieren, die neue Impulse für das architektonische Erbe der Sowjetunion setzen soll. Die Ausstellung ist als Retrospektive gedacht. Gegenwärtig liegt der Schwerpunkt auf Zeichnungen aus den 1960/70er-Jahren und den 1980/90er-Jahren und betreffen einzelne bauliche Ikonen der Spätmoderne wie auch visionäre Rekonstruktionsprojekte. Dabei möchten wir exemplarische Beispiele einzelner Architekten aber auch bestimmter Architektengruppen (bzw. „Werkstätten“) einbeziehen. Anhand dieses Œuvres soll eine Epoche des vergangenen Jahrhunderts in einem komplexen Bild geboten werden, das in seinen vielfältigen Facetten in Deutschland erstmals vorgestellt wird.
