The exhibition "LOCATION:GEORGIEN – Crisis and Perspective of a Film Country" presents photographs shot by German directors, photographers and journalists during their visits to Georgia. Over 150 works were shown in Cologne, Berlin and in Tbilisi. The idea of the exhibition is expressed in its title LOCATION:GEORGIEN – it is about a place in the world – Georgia, in a cinematographic sense. Different visions of German artists describe specific aspects of the country from specific viewpoints. The exhibition is an attempt to comment on an affluent Georgian cultural phenomenon. What are Georgia and the Caucasus for the European perception? What does the Western civilization mean for Georgia today? Do Georgians admit and regret their mistakes or still blame someone else for everything? These are some of the questions that the authors of the works represented at the exhibition try to answer.
